Hughes - Vocal & Percussion
My family had its share of musical talent. From vocalists to
keyboards to fiddles and guitars, music was always a part of my
life. I started on trumpet but soon found out playing “Blue Moon”
didn’t impress many girls—well there was a flute player once but
that’s another story. Once the British invasion hit I moved to bass
guitar and eventually found my instrument, lead vocals. In my teens
I had the great fortune to be the front man for an extraordinary
group of musicians. We covered everything from Mo Town, to Chicago,
to Three Dog Night and Blood Sweat & Tears. Sadly my freshman year
of college Uncle Sam informed me that playing in clubs was not a
major and would not maintain my student deferment. After the
service, career and family curtailed much of my music life. Jeff,
our lead guitarist, got me back into performing at a holiday jam
session. The last few years have been another great musical journey
as part of the 3eatles. Having fun and enjoying the ride again with
a great bunch of musicians! |

| Stan Huston - Bass
I grew up just east of Morrison in Bear Valley
where we could almost see the Red Rocks Amphitheatre from our front
porch, up the creek past the rickety old bridge on that summer night
back in 1964, when the Beatles made their historic appearance!....
Sadly…big brother Bob & I didn’t have $6 for tickets…...like many
wannabe kids at the time, we started playing Beatle songs on our
dad’s old 1940’s jazz guitar. I loved the bass more though and at
thirteen, I started my first band, “Edgar H. Bum’s Traveling Circus”
with the bass Daddy bought me for Christmas. Obviously, the first
song we learned was "Money". Later, we toured High School gymnasiums
and teen centers with the popular music of the day, Jethro Tull,
Mountain, Led Zeppelin and Grand Funk Railroad to mention a
few……Inspired by many of these at Red Rocks concerts just up the
creek!...In far away places like Oregon, Lake Tahoe and Monterey,
through years of Folk, Gospel, Bluegrass, Rock, Jazz, and a bunch of
other kinds of music, I’ve played, Bass, Classic guitar, folk
guitar, piano, and screaming guitar licks by the likes of Clapton,
Hendricks and my favorite, Phil Keaggy….. but, bass is still my
favorite instrument….and Jazz is still my favorite music….Back in
Colorado play'in Beatles with the 3eatles.... I also play
Jazz/Fusion/Rock and some varied comic and serious bass solo
performances on my homemade fretless basses among others with
flavors from Bach, Mancini and Pastorious. |
